This Is An Awesome Day

SpaceX Falcon9 launched this morning – 21 Starlink satellites going into low-Earth orbit! This is a photo from our back yard.

We also saw the booster separate and begin its descent into the ocean for landing. What a way to start the day – one of the many benefits of being married to an aerospace engineering major Mary Kowenhoven, who is definitely overqualified in helping me run our law firm.😊

The booster landed on the SpaceX drone ship “Of Course I Still Love You” in the Pacific Ocean. What a perfect name.

Having just finished the Elon Musk book by Walter Isaacson earlier this week, I’m in awe of what they are doing at SpaceX. My favorite part of the book comes in the very last chapter after the first Starship launch explodes shortly after takeoff and Elon says “Success. Our goals were to get clear of the pad and explode out of sight, and we did. There’s too much that can go wrong to get to orbit the first time. This is an awesome day.”

THIS is an awesome day. Make it a great one!
